My pack leader went away with her family for the weekend. Leaving me and my litter mates with her husband. And we had a ball.
On Sunday, April (my owner-to-be) came out to the house with her friend, Ruthie. I guess she wanted to show me off. And I am something to be shown off.
At Celtic Crossroads Kennels, there are only two dogs that bark. Me. And Darby.
Anyway.... Ruthie and April played with us (me and my siblings) for a little bit. I was excited to see her, but I didn't want to come when she said my name. She caught my ears moving when she said the name, so I knew I couldn't really act like I was ignoring here.
I'm waiting to go back to the pet store. They sold the big tortoise. His name was Che after the family Chelonia: that's the scientific family that turtles & tortoises are in.
I'm also waiting to go to my new home. Hopefully next week.

Second Day
Yesterday, my pack leader brought me to this noisy place. Apparently, I'm supposed to shake up this racket and make it more interesting. This means that I'll be around for awhile. Haunting the aisles. Or sleeping behind the desk. Or sleeping on my bed.
Hi. I'm Dudley, the new puppy at Tropic Cove. I'm an eleven week old Irish Wolfhound. That means that I'm big, but I'm not supposed to know that. I still want to be carried and cuddled. Not to mention the fact that Irish Wolfhounds are the ideal lap dogs: we take it all up and keep you warm to boot.
But as I was saying, my pack leader brought me here. And lemme tell ya'... This is an intimidating place for a quiet pup like me. I'm not a member of a mean breed. We're big, but we're just big teddybears. And loud noises scare us just as much as they would a little kid. So after my second car ride (ever), I walked into Tropic Cove, my new daytime home. The place was full of weird smells, but nothing too scary. I was excited; this was my first fun adventure.
And then this big blue bird screamed at me.
That was the end of my first fun adventure. I stay away from the birds now. Even the little ones that are no bigger than my nose. They're too squawky.
I followed my pack leader, Ruth, to the front of the store and promptly sat behind the counter. A safe place to hide from the birds. We were alone for a little while. Then these two other people came in: Kevin and April, my new owners. They smelled funny too, so I stayed away.
For a couple minutes all three of them stared at me and said lots of words I don't know. Then April said my name Dudley. And I started to answer here, but she didn't understand me. Then Kevin said my name. Then Ruth. I was excited. Still really scared of the birds, but excited.
After that, I slept 'til Ruth took me home.
Today, she brought me to Tropic Cove again. It's better today. If by better, you mean I'm not afraid to wag my tail or jump up on April. The birds are still noisy, but I guess they aren't used to having a puppy in the store. I probably smell funny to them too.
I hope lots of people come into visit today. I like new people.
I'm off for another nap.
